Default AE71 4A engine and gear box options

Hey all, looking at buying a AE71 corolla. Its a carby 4A-C from what i can gather, manual, didn't check if it was a 4 or 5 speed. It nearly have to be a 5 speed yeah?
Anywho, was looking at doing the usual 4AGE or along those lines, I have seen the front wheel drive motors put into the AE71's but usually 4AGE's out of AE82's, can you use the 4A-FE out of AE92's in them? Yes I'm aware you would have to alter or change the intake manifold, install wiring and so on for the EFI conversion, but the blocks all bolt up the same yeah?
Just out of interest too, what do 4AGE powered AE71's usually fetch price wise?

    Hi mate,
4 or 5 speed doesnt matter, they have the same bellhousing.

Yep any 4a will bolt in. But a 4AGE will be easier and better, because there are more parts around for conversions.

A AE71 with a 4AGE go for anywhere between $2000-$6000 depending on other mods. For 6k you would want some nice suspension, brakes, possibly a 20v with a decent driveline.
To use a FWD engine you will need RWD engine mounts, and have to convert the cooling system as well.
Tbh your much better off buying somebody's setup which is already configured for RWD (unless your happy to spend time building it).

I considered a 4A-F as a ultra cheap improvement to performance in an AE71, but for all that making-the-dizzy-cap-clear effort, a 20v would be a much more smile inducing option...
I wonder if a webber hanging off a 7A-F would be any fun... haha.
