Default mx83 brake upgrade rim selection woes

my chaser rims dont clear the calipers of the ba/33 brake upgrade,

    im considering a few options,

get bolt on spacers from wheelworx
replace the studs and get spacers
or get another set of rims.

what stock rims that are available will fit the upgrade? im having trouble finding some 33 or jza80 rims, will 32 gtst or gtr rims fit? what offset should i be looking for to clear the calipers?

    cheers

Posted this before in the Cressida thread:

    R33 GTS 16
    JZS147 16x7.5 +50

Most important is the inside shape rather than the exact offset.

The above rims fit will with stock suspension and with no body work. Coilovers will reduce the inside clearance and many rims with +50 offset wont fit. R32 GT-R rims (8" +30) will stick out a bit more than is acceptable with standard suspension settings/body, so will need a little work to fit.

i have a set of 33 wheels i want to get rid of, but can't be bothered posting. With 225 tyres, i lunched a tyre on an unrolled front guard, so if you intend on running that wide - roll your guards, my car isn't even that low. JZA80 wheels are expensive.

I bought some enkei's on ebay brand new. They aren't a spoke design that you would think would fit (flat..) - but they do - so you may get lucky. They are 17x7 +38, and cost me $400. Tyres are common and cheap in 17s.

Do you want something that looks stock, or anything that fits / is cheap?

id prefer to keep it stock looking as possible, goes with the theme of the car and plus i wont get more attention from the police. which kind of rules out 33 gtr rims which look amazing!

also the cheaper the better considering i didnt budget for this

I once had r33 gtst wheels that were 6.5 front, 7.5 rear and cleared no worries. They look fairly stock on a Cressida I suppose

Depends how low you put them as although the spring used in the coilovers are a smaller diameter, the bottom seat can be lower than the stock spring seat which is also where the front tyre wants to be.

So +50 is out if you're putting in Coilovers? I'm looking at some 18x7.5 +50 Arthur Exchange rims, just 'cause they're so dirt cheap with new tyres, they'd be cheaper than putting tyres on the rims I already have, but if they don't fit, that's a bit of a moot point.
