Default Shannons Eastern Creek Classic 22nd August 2010

There was a plug for this on ABC radio this morning...

Time is priceless yet it costs us nothing.
You can do anything you want with it but you can't own it.
You can spend it but you can't keep it.
And once you've lost it, there is no getting it back, it's just gone."

    Hi,

Yes this is on again and Toymods will be attending.

I've been as busy as a one-legged man in a butt kicking competition the past couple of months due to massive project at work. We went live last weekend, which is good as the Shannons weekend was targeted as our fall-back weekend. So now I can go.

As per last year, we have 5 spots.

So far the following Toymods attendees are:-

    - MS51 (Pretty Boy)
    - RA25 (Pumpkin)
    - RA28 (River)

    Rev, Farky, Hairy Apes....????

You guys attending? I think Rev is, but not sure.

Pretty Boy, I checked last years thread (previous NSW events) and we arranged to meet at your place at 7am. You got the tickets, so I assume it is okay to do the same, and meet at your place at 7am this coming Sunday? We can then go together.

You really need to read your PM's old man.

I can only bring the RS41. If I keep it at normal height no one will know it's bagged. If that's ok with you blokes I'll be there for sure.

    Cheers, Greg.

    Greg,

The CMC had a big push in their minutes and event docs this year to "remind" everyone that

"Delegates were advised that vehicles attending the SECC should be historically correct. Period options and accessories are encouraged to enhance the display."

We were also informed last year that clubs bringing cars that were not historically correct were viewed as "violating the CMC's trust" as such as much as I'd love your Bagged Crown there we just cant.

    For those who are attending,

Meet at My place at 8am to convoy to the grounds together. Window stickers MUST be stuck to the windscreen prior to entry.

We are in Area D, Are track parade laps are at 3.00PM

Your car does NOT have to be on Historic Rego to enter so if you think your car is suitable and you want to be part fo the clubs display send me a PM to discuss it.

Rev and Hairy, PM me if you can join us.

Surely they're not going to be looking at the suspension set-up if it's at standard height?

    Hi,

I've still got the Supra-esque wheels on The 88.

That's what I thought Greg. I was even gonna put the stock tail light lenses back on. It's not like they're gonna go looking for it.

Ah well, count me out then. I took the day off work for this event. That's $500 down the drain for me. A bit harsh I reckon.

Another Shannon's Classic has been and Gone. As always it was a great casual kinda day with a stock of Eye Candy to look at (both Varieties)

Since we had 2 spare spots Dav used one for a "Free" entry to the show and after seeing how many modified cars were on show we figured they could suck it up and live with another one on show.

Dav and River were both grabbing happy snaps so should have some better a shots but here is a couple of quick ones.

    Our Display:

I highly recommend taking a Double Decker Bus run around the Track:

    (Fuck I'm Getting fat )

Neither the mighty 18R-G nor the 1G-GTE could keep up with Ronnie once Joe got hold of it:

The stock suspension requiring some additional driver bracing:

Before Joe disappeared into the distance:

Mind you Ethan had no trouble keeping up with the 51:

Next year we would like to have a MUCH bigger presence of 30 plus year old Toyota's. I think its time to show them just what Toyota can contribute

    Hi,

Yep, it was a good day. First time I have wandered over to the other areas and took some pics.

Yet again, the number of modified classics surprised me, and therefore I'm all for opening the invite to all Toymods cars that are 30 yo (or more), regardless of how original or not they are.

I took some pics and will get some of them up later.

Hell yeah, Joe put the boot into poor old Ronnie. Good to see it roll around corners like a dinghy in a storm.

i was pissed i missed it, couldnt get my rego done in time, and yes river, last yeah pissed me right off with the amount of "Non classics" and heavily modified classics. The CMC really does have no clue in my eyes. I remember last year talking about how toymods could easily display 20-30 "Classics" in the CMCs eyes of what a classic is.

Looks like you guys had fun going round.
I'm really disappointed I missed it, just had an addition to the family so it was kind of hard to convince the misses that the celica takes priority over the new little girl in my life. haha I'll be there next year 100%
