    Default identifying 2S bell-housing

quick query (i hope) - i have 3SGE block (gen1) and discovered that my random bell-housing fits it. Eye-lining it suggests the gearbox will be canted over slightly.

It only has a '2' cast near the top where it bolts to the engine. Starter-motor & clutch slave attach on passenger side.

Am I right to assume that this is a 2S housing?

I was gifted it by blake (or wilbo?) many decades ago and had presumed it to be out of some commercial vehicle. Was seconds away from recycling it when packing up for the move to toowoomba.

    tia,
    charles.

Hmm, pretty sure it wasn't me...

I have a feeling it might be Y?

That pic with the 2S and 3Y? markups me and Joel did up should be floating around somewhere? If you can't find it I'll have a look for my copy

    Cheers

    Hi Wilbo!

might have been blake then ... or maybe blake gifted it to you while your stuff was under our house? anyway

i think i have that pic you're referring to ... or have come across it searching for 3SGE RWD conversion threads...

found it (oddly enough in a folder titled 'bell') ... i also have a pic of my random belhousing:

    the number up the top:

edit: your 3Y pic has the starter/clutch on the driver's side.
