I have a 2001 1JZ JZS171 auto here with 9x1.25 bolts for the torque converter
also a Supra 2JZ and a Surf auto with same size
I have a JZX100 auto and the converter bolts appear to be something like 9x1.25mm.
Is this a later model thing or do all the 1JZ autos use this odd bolt size?

Jealousy is a curse
It would appear to be common for the late 80's up to the late 90's model autos rather than just 1JZ specific.
My 88 1G A340E had that thread which then went as spares for millsi's 1UZ auto conversion (A341/340 hybrid).
Could have sworn the 2JZ converter bolts are bigger than that.
The 2JZ bolts that came off my Supra engine were M10, but the ones off the VVTI out of the Majesta were 9mm

Mofo's. I pulled the converter and tapped the threads to 10x1.0mm and used subaru flex plate bolts. This avoided me being laughed at by parts and bolt store people when asking for a 9mm bolt.
