    Default AE80 lowering?

new to the lowering scene, just wondering if its an ABSOLUTE NECESITY to replace the shockers if u put aftermarket lowering springs on?

im trying to lower my ae80 hatch 2inchs,dad rekons i need new shockers, frend(panel beater) has told me u can lower it 2inchs without changing shockers.

thought id ask here, also the shockers are still in good nick so im trying not to spend enormous amounts of money either. can get a set of king spring supa lows for about $200,any1 know of a cheaper but just as good brand or a shop to buy them from in adelaide?

    thx all

Nah you dont need to replace shockers m8. It is advised but not a must .
It means on some cars if you get air the spring can fall out cos the shocker doesnt hold the diff up enough
Gemminis are bad for this but you should be ok.

Does the shocker run through the spring on the back pf you car??

it's not a neccessity but if you can afford it you may as well because they're going on 20 odd years (unless they've been changed) so you may as well do it while you're changing the suspension.

Put my ae82 on superlows and didnt change shocks coz they've got another maybe 10K km's in them and the ride is fine
I have been pruned by old man river!!!!!
