Well if you like off the line go, then its the 7m, or if you are willing to rev it out and drive it hard, go the 1J.

1J has more potential in stock form yes, but will require a turbo upgrade to get to 250rwkw.

7M will need work to make sure that headgasket is perfect. But some decent work around the turbo and exhaust and that should net you 250rwkw, but im pretty sure you would need a highflowed CT26 turbo or at least a T04.

Either way, you will need a modded turbo(s) on either engine to make that power.

I've come from a 2JZGE to a 7MGTE and off boost, the 7m feels so much stronger down low. Really had to rev the 2J to get it going but it was awesome above 3500rpm.

In the end, it comes down to wether or not you are prepared for the work required to make sure the p00 motor is all good when it goes in, otherwise drop in a 1J, bolt on a giant turbo and if it breaks, replace stock motor with another for $500.

well....looks like i mit be doing to 1jz, seems more usefull, prolly cuz i don want to spend heaps on a headgasket to work properly, instead a bigger turbo,

so all i need now is to find a decent 1jz and a workshop available to do the conversion.......

norbie will i need engine mounts etc etc
if u can supply me with some more info so ill speak to the guy that has the 10.7 second mx83 about engine etc etc.

You'll need engine mounts. The best solution is probably to find a JZX81 front cut, as it's a bolt-in proposition. That said, some people have trouble finding them, not that i've really looked personally.
