Have you checked the "leaky ECU capacitor" threads on here?
Have you pulled codes from the ECU to see why it was flashing?
Hey people, i have done a search, but couldn't find anything to help me out.
I have a 92 cressida with a 1jzgte auto conversion
it has a SAFC and SITC but are both running on zero, also exhaust is only running to the dump/front pipe at the moment.
my problem is it will randomly stall due to over fueling, if i sit ideling, then go to take off it will stall randomly and is very hard to get restarted (restarting results in a huge smoke cloud)
also idle randomly can be very low (around 500rpm) and will over fuel, while it is doing this if i disconnect the map sensor it will idle fine.
also, the engine light will randomly flash up, and if i get below 1500rpm after it has done this and i accelirate it will stall, but if i turn the car off and back on it will be fine
because the car is only doing it randomly (hot or cold, doesnt matter) im stumped
any help would be great
thanks heaps
-Jake

Hey Jake the caps have been done in this ecu so it "should" be something else, maybe the line to the map sensor is split a little or maybe blocked? I got the old caps back and could see where they were leaking but it may be other caps in the ecu?
Cheers, Rich and TLSF, i have opened up the ECU and all capacitors have been replaced and are 100% fine
i replaced the line going to the map sensor and it made no difference
how do i check the ecu fault codes? i didnt see any lights on the ECU (like my old car had)
Thanks again

Try get the SAFC tuned?
That may be coursing it? Try and run it with out the SAFC and see how it is off?

-GQ 93 Mav, 4.2 Diesel, 35" BFG KM2's, 4" lift, 3" Exhaust, Front Locked, Rear shimmed, Sliders, IPF foggies, UHF, 2871R and Intercooled.
even with the safc at turned right down it still over fuels badly on idle randomly
to run without the SAFC can i just disconnect it? or would i need to rejoin the loom?

id still swap the ecu just to be sure, cause i had the capacitors replaced in my ecu and they said no guarantees, so then i got another ecu and problem solved.
just recently a guy had an issue with no boost and running rich, think cause he had the boost control wire the wrong way.
id try and get the engine codes up if u can
will try and get another ECU to test
how do i get engine codes up? im used to nissan ECUs with the lights on the ECU and a diagnostic switch, EFI toyotas are new to me
