maybe the driveshafts are too long for the application?
Hey all in short a mate of mine has a ae92 and we have transplanted an ae101 4agze into it. What seemed a relitivly easy exchange was. However we now have an issue in the front driveshafts, they are sitting at a 10degree angle and when on full lock even more. This is chewing out cv's real fast.
Has anyone came across this befoe as I know that there at heaps ov these about, and any help will be much appreciated.
Cheers all,
maybe the driveshafts are too long for the application?
!!! BAN LOW PERFORMANCE DRIVERS NOT HIGH PERFORMANCE CARS !!!
私のトヨタはある従って速い均一死んだ人叫ぶ!
Hey mate thanks for the comment, the driveshafts are the corrent length just on a bad angle, a mechanic said the the ae101 gearbox must displace the shafts in different positions as opposed to the factory box. Mm, I think bullshit, maybe the hub set up is different??
Also ask the question at twincam.org.au, as they mainly deal with FWD 4ags.
What engine mounts did you use in the conversion?
Mixture between ae92 and ae101 as they were the same!!
You don't say what was in the car. I believe you will need a 4agze mount for transmission rear, and perhaps an AE92 4agze one, check out toyodiy.com for part numbers. Done this myself but can't remember....This could be sitting your engine out of whack?
the AE92 GTZ rear mount is what you need, it's different to the C-series mount.
So using this mount will fix the allignment of the shafts..
using the GTZ mount aligns the shafts where toyota intended them to sit. I'm actually a bit suprised you were able to get the C series mount bolted up.
Cool does anyone have a part number, I'll get one ordered!!

And if you have grief getting it from Toyota, try roadandtrack.net.au, that's where I bought mine....
