Try remove the ISCV and give it a clean, could be that the ISCV is not even functioning.
I'd say give the ISCV a clean first or try another one if you know anybody who is willing to lend you a spare.
Hi,
I've got an '89 1GGE auto at the moment that's got a little problem and you guys have helped me in the past so I thought I'd ask again .
When started from dead cold, the car blows a bit more smoke than normal, but I would say that it is just the valve stem seals.
After starting the car for the first time in 1-2 weeks today, it blew the smoke like normal, I let it idle for a minute or so, drove it down the driveway but on the way back up, when it got into 2nd gear under slight load, the engine almost died. The further down I pushed the pedal the lower the RPM got.
It's the first time it has ever happened with this car, so I came to a stop, then accelerated again, took it for a drive and it was fine. As I was listening to it in the shed revving, when I just nudged the accelerator a bit the revs went from 700rpm (what they were idling at) dropped to around 5-600rpm only for a very split second, then revved like normal. The drop in rpm when I touched the accelerator pedal is very sensitive, and seems to happen even when I just touch the pedal, moving it within it's few millimetres of play before it senses it.
I have read about this happening with carby engines, and have had the problem on my motorbike where it was running lean/ low on fuel, but this engine is a bit more complex for me.
Any idea what could be causing it?
Or things to check/ change that could rectify the issue?
I know 7M's ISCV can get a bit sticky could that be the problem? (unlikely)
Thanks for any help guys.

Vacc leak post afm could also be your problem with the description you have given.

Thanks guys, I meant to clean the ISCV earlier but never got around to it, so will do that and also see if there's any leaks.
Any idea upon reassembling the throttle body/ ISCV what to use for a gasket? Will some silicone RTV do the job?
yep^^^^^^^^^^
the pressure isnt EXTREME at that point.
RTV is fine.
Thanks guys.
I'll see how it goes.
