Default feeler for new turbos - to suit 1JZ

im looking into upgrading the twin turbos on the 1jz. what are your thoughts on this kind of turbo(x2)

    Compressor Wheel
    A/R: 0.5, Inlet: 52.7 mm, outlet: 75.8 mm, Trim: 48

    Turbine Wheel
    A/R:0.63, Ind: 64 mm, Exd: 57.85 mm, Trim: 7

    external gated, T4(i think)

    300-400hp rated

im looking to run some where between 18-20psi boost
im not too good on the specs of turbos but would a pair of these give me a little more poke?

would the 2 together be able to see more than 350hp?
im not after stupid amounts of power, just not too sure how long the original ones will last

    cheers in advance

two of them will be very laggy, both needing their own dump and gate setup, fabbing up a single wastegate system will be very hard due to space constraints, you could always grab a set of 2j turbos, or you could use a ct26 off a 7m.

a single one of those snails you have listed would work quite well, but 2.........custom manifolds would have to be made aswell, not much space, they may not hit boost til over 5k.....read PIG TO DRIVE!

only problem is engineering it, if you plan to....2j turbos would work well, gut all the sequential bs and run them in true twin, should see 300rwhp fairly easily!

By the time (+cost.. depending on if you do it yourself..) you do all the fab work you are better to just do the tried and tested path of a big single.. At least then most things can be had off the shelf.

That and unless you have the patience of a thousand men, you will swear to never touch anything twin turbo again after pulling the stock setup off

ive pulled the twins off many a time so thats not an issue.. single could be good but its a lot of work to pass emissions... just trying to work out how to do it..... can they both be run off the one wastegate?

Personally I'd avoid 2JZ turbos. The are laggy when run on a 2jz in non-sequential.

    I'd suggest a Y pipe and a GT3076

you can always get the standard ones rebuilt + steel wheeled, or even highflowed for abit more each turbo. or have a shot at rebuilding them yourself.

that way it all looks stock.

the ones in mine are made by a americian company, ive forgotten the name, but they are 340 each, inc new shaft and exhaust wheel. i would asume you could get cheaper chinese knock offs tho.

Adelaide turbo services is where i had mime rebuilt, if you ring and ask for bill he will help you out, with any info you need and advice and he can source the parts.

    cheers
