I rang DECA the other day inquiring about the skid pan etc, they will hire it out to any Car Club at a cost of $2650 for the day, but also the organising club has to organise its own cam's insurance for the day as part of the conditions ..

They hire it out on any Saturday or Sunday ..

You dont only get the skid pan there is a " course up the back " & some other facilities as well ( if i remember correctly ) & use of their meeting room ?

    Rob ..

Sounds cool, I'm interested in this and giving the soarer a run. Really needs an LSD, but if it's covered in water and I apply enough power - I should still have fun! Hehe

OK, good info Rob. I'm away all week for work, but maybe when I get back I'll look at dates.

I'm flat out with new job, so to avoid burdening one or two people, I reckon we need to split it up.

Someone to get prices on CAMS insurance (maybe a member of TCCAV?)
Someone to check dates available at DECA
Someone to look after financials (ie: take money and pay to applicable places). We'll do it in a way such that there is no chance to have anyone stuck out of pocket.
Someone to look after finding volunteers
Someone to look after a barbie and food.

I propose that once we have costs (including insurance) we'll work out the cost p/p assuming 20ppl, as I think that is a number we can very safely get.

Lets say that gives us a figure of $200 each. Everyone pays that amount, and when we know we've covered the cost we'll book it in. As numbers increase beyond 20, the price per person will obviously decrease, and once we've locked in a total number, we can refund to those who've paid too much.

I know it's complicated, but with a lot of people potentially outside our club we've gotta do it in a way where nobody get's stooged.

    Thoughts?

well, I like the theory, hell I'd even check the dates and organize the money...

On the massive proviso that I won't book a thing until everyone has paid.

I don't believe DECA run a calendar, it is a driver training facility that people can hire on the weekends, it is not a race track. Ring them, they may be able to help.

    Any more on this one?
Is anyone actually trying to organise, or did this get placed in the 'too hard basket'?

No one is trying to organise anything, people were hoping there would be something they could tag along to.

    Exactly what he said ^^^

The thread was started with an "are there any coming up" approach, but doesn't seem like it.
