Default 4agze power steering pump alignment

    Hi all,

I am putting my motor back together after rebuild and cant get the a/c compressor and power steering pump to line up.
The belt rubs on the side of the a/c pulley.

Power steering pump sticks out by 5-10mm.

Any ideas what i may have done wrong? I have had it all apart.

    Cheers
    Waz

Are you able to supply pictures?

Is it all stock in the respect of alternator, AC, PS?

You have to use a gze PS pump, AC, and Alternator and all the factory standard brackets.

You haven't installed one of the ancillaries on the wrong side of the mounting tabs have you?

    Hi Guys,

    Thanks for the reply's.
Yea i have a pic. Can email if you like.

Yes it is all stock and was working fine before i pulled it all apart.

There is only 4 bolts into the a/c to mount it so there isn't much room for movement there. and the p/s pump can only go 1 place.

I have stared at it for a long time now and i cant see anything wrong.

I have moved the bracket around now and tryed to get as much movement out of all parts as possible to get them to align. Still a slight rub on the side of the a/c pulley but i dont think there's anything i can do about it.

    Beats me...

Did you remove a pulley and put it on backwards maybe?

Confirming that all witness marks align might help you find the cause....

When parts are fixed together for a period of time and then when you pull them apart you will likely see "witness marks" (eg. slight change in surface, indentation, grime and/or colour) where the mating surfaces were compressed together (compared to the surrounding surfaces which were not compressed together accumulating different of wear and tear characteristics). Sorry if I explained something simple in a convoluted way ;-)

Therefore, check your collection of parts for alignment of witness marks with each other, it may help.....
