Default Bypassing ISCV cause high vacuum?

    Hi guys,

Just a quick question. I have disabled the ISCV on my 3s-gte and have just adjusted the throttle plate so it can idle.

I'm only getting like 12in/mg of vacuum @ idle (from my research I think I should have from 18-22) and was just wondering if this would be caused by having that throttle plate cracked open just a bit? Or should I be looking for a vacuum leak?

Also worth while to check your cam timing and valve clearances.

Cam timing and valve clearance should be ok as the motor was just rebuilt and new belt was put on.

Machine shop took care of the valve clearances

if it is idling at the same speed, then the manifold vacuum will be the same.. regardless of how the air is leaked in (throttle plate or ISCV)

    look elsewhere.

btw, why would you disable the ISCV? you want to have to manually control the idle?

Yeah a mate had an engine built by a well known engine builder, but they still had cam timing out buy some ridiculous amount, 4+ teeth (can't remember exactly) .
A simple double check eliminates 1 possibility with ease.

ISCV was bypassed because its faulty.

And I did the timing belt myself Check it like 5 times.

I'm going to start looking for a vacuum leak me thinks.
