    Default 3T-GTE turbo help.

    Hi all,

I'm just about to purchase my first celica, with an 3T-GTE engine in it, and seeing as i'm only 16, the turbo needs to be gone,
Being a first year apprentice i'm still new to it all and wondering how much work/ what would need to be done to remove the turbo. if i can't get an exemption.
Also what kind of power will be lost without the turbo.
    cheers.

IMO it would by cheaper and easier to convert it to a 18rg than to convert a 3t-gte motor to NA, as for power lost not sure on figures but standard 3tgte against 18rg a very considerable power difference.

Plenty of info on engine swaps on the forum if you wanted to go for another variation of NA motors.

Might even be cheaper to look for another Celica with a NA engine.

    I hope that helps
    Aaron

I will buy the 3TGTE off you if you like, running it without a turbo willl be like wearing no underpants for a month just doesnt work.
3TGTE might be old but it can still hammer along.

You just have to remove the exhaust manifold complete with turbo and then put a 2T exhaust on. Its a direct fit.
Then if you have the stock ECU run a pipe from the AFM direct to the throttle body...

The exhaust manifold on the 2T, 2TG and 3T are the same as the 3T GTE. No electrical mods needed, you will just have less power as it will never go on boost.

    Cheers,
    Simon
