gt35 with 82 prob ya best bet
i made 397 rwhp @ 20psi with a gt30 .82
from a dead stock 1jz, haltec , 550cc inj
so a gt35 should be more .
Hi Guys, i have searched and read the vast, plentyful amount of somewhat conflicting info out there bolted to alot of different setups..
It's for a mates project basically we have.
Non VVT 1JZ (stock at the moment)
3500 MV converter (and "the axle snapping'' shift kit)
Custom ally plenum from injector plate up (Approx 5L)
Stock TB (with the TCS TB removed)
Steam pipe merge manifold (32mm id, 7.5 deg merge)
Unsure of the measurements of the core for the cooler, but it's a PWR core and he is going to fold up his own end tanks to suit the application.
will be running aftermarket management eventually
possibility of some cams straight away if needed??
What Turbo would be able to flow enough for between 400-500rwhp and would see close to if not full boost around that converter? (as long as it's not making full boost at 5000rpm in other words!) As we would rather slightly over size it for future than undersize it
have been looking at GT35R in various combo's... but the .82 rear and 1.06 rear seem to be the only options that we have found, the .82 'they say' would be running out of steam at just over 320rwhp (probly what ever the calculator worked out) but the 1.06 just seems way to massive to be useable? there seems to be a few combo's in the .9X in the T04 style... GT40 seems to have a .94 rear housing option?
(the engine will eventually see a full bottom end build, cams etc etc)
some of these numbers might be wrong but it's just what i can remember right now.
Cheers,
Mat

GT3076r?? .82 rear housing, but the GT3582r has a 68mm rear wheel vs the 30's 60mm rear wheel,
would the slightly bigger rear wheel, and bigger front ofcourse be able to flow an extra 100hp or so?
havn't thought about twinscrolls - like the GT3788R it has a .89 rear, 72.5mm wheel???
you said 400-500 , thats a big gap .. 35 will get you 400easy , but if ya going to push for 500 you'll prob want something bigger ,
twin scroll , you'll need a proper twin scroll manifold , so if ya already have a single entry then you'll have to change it.
it wouldn't be desireable, but he can always make a new manifold if twinscroll was the best option... it's what he does for a living!
what sort of manifold/dump/plenum etc etc are you running?
i've also been reading what you have posted about Holset turbo's on the JZX100 forums... there might be an option there also!
Mustn't have searched too hard...

JZA70|R / 12.45 @ 111 mph.
i saw that but there was too much 'my manifold is better than yours' at the start so i didn't troll through the other pages.. but now i'm glad i did!
Josh, Kyle and a few others had some real info on the 30 vs 35 battle... which the 3582 seems to have won hands down
anyone else had tried anything different like the T04 range? or care to add?
400 35r with 1.06 rear
500 to4r/z with 1.06 rear housing, you will need exotic fuel to do 500 reliably and have it hold together, pump fuel at that sort of boost level needed is time bomb shit
8.3 et PB 169 MPH PB
ended up going for a gt3582r... i will create a build thread for the car soon
cheers for all the input!
