    Default 3T-GTE / 2T-G Block?

What differences are there between the 2T-G and 3T-GTE bare Blocks? Besides the turbo oil-drain hole.
I have a set of forged pistons (0.5 mm oversize) from the 3T-GTE but the piston to bore clearances on the 3T block vary from 4 to 9 thou. So can I use the virgin 2T-G block, get it bored to the right size, and fit all the 3T-GTE parts? Will there be a cylinder wall thickness problem? Will the crank, head and all timing gear and covers fit?

no idea but i am curious about your 3t-gte 0.5mm os forged pistons...i am entertaining the idea of getting forged pistons for my 3tgte and.
Where did you get them from and how much were they?

Depends which medel 2TG you have. The later ones with the 11111-88261, 11111-xxxxx and no head numbers have the same block casting at the 3T. The earlier ones, pre-88261 are a different casting and will not accomodate the 3T crank without grinding some material from the block skirts.
All 2T and 3T blocks have the same 86mm bore.
The timing covers should be fine, as will be the wall thickness. You generally run into the water galleries just past 89mm bore size.
It shouldn't be beyond a competent machine shop to tap an oil drain hole into the 2TG block and fit it up.

Hmm, I sold the head off the 2T-G a few years ago. I guess I'll just try the 3TG crank and see if it fits.

The pistons came in a 3T-GTE I bought in a car, I stripped that motor to get the best bits to rebuild my current motor. Its got 1mm oversize forgies that I had custom made, they were around $1300 with rings.

I posted the part numbers for each T engine block casting in the old forums with notes about applications/suitability.
