oh btw it was designed for a 24valve I6, if wanted i can change it to suit v6, I4, v8 etc
had a quiet patch at work yesterday and i have a couple of heads to clearance so i made up a nice swanky spreadsheet to work out what shim sizes are required.
im sure some ppl on here have already made one but here it is for those that are still doing it the old fashioned way
its pretty easy to use, enter clearance spec at the top left, measure ur clearances and enter into column C. remove cams & measure shims and enter in column B.
it will spit out in the yellow columns a range from biggest to smallest shim that will bring it back into spec. if the clearance is already within spec it will say "OK"
there is another group of columns for once you reassemble it, you can remeasure and see how many you got right!
up the top there is also a quick calculator if you want to find out what clearance a shim change will give you.
the sheet is protected to make it easier to use, but there is no password if you wish to modify it at all. at this stage the white areas are for data entry and are unlocked, the rest are formulas and are locked in case of accidental deletion or whatever.
i havent done any real testing on it as i dont have any assembled heads so let me know if there are any bugs
cheers, hope this helps some ppl

updated after some field testing.
boy did this make life easy, i have a phone that runs windows mobile & office.... was out in the shed last night pumping the numbers in as i went and by the time i had finished measuring clearances i already had the new shim size worked out for me
better than the old days of scrawling numbers on an oily piece of paper that you lose then having to do the maths in your head lol
