Default The Celsior/Soarer/LS400 Climate Control LCD saga

    Hi all.

This is a real common one as some of these old girls are hitting the 21 year mark.

There is a fix that involves buying the replacement LDC module from Lextreme in the States, but at $190 US dollars shipped per LCD I'm not all that keen.

Yes they are providing a unique service that would appear to be cheaper than genuine parts, but AU$221 landed per LCD screen is a bit beyond value for money.

So, has anyone come up with another solution or is it a case of either lash out the cash or put up with it?

    There is this mob:

    http://www.smelecom.com/sm/shopping/index.jsp

Same thing at US$80 just proves Lextreme are charging an extortionate mark up. Downside is they only list for US spec LS400 that has a mirror image climate control.

Anyone know the difference between JDM Celsior, AUS Spec LS400, US Spec LS400 climate control? Are they interchangeable?

If AUS LS400 is the same as US LS400 maybe cheaper to get an AUS climate control with busted LCD and fix that.

GTtwin, there is a guy in Canberra "Ausheat" also known as Phillip Radiators, the local NatRad dealers. The family owned an LS400 and had the LCD problem. The guys sourced new LCD screens and fixed mums car, then realised thre was a market for them. They have been supplying them for years on an exchange basis.

The downside is that the Celsior CF spec car has rear A/C and requires a shorter LCD screen than the locally sold Lexus LS400, so these guys can not help you out if your car is CF spec like me.

    cheers Chuck.
