    Default 20V PCV undersized?

On my engine I have my dipstick pop up from a build-up of crankcase pressure. Now while I understand this is normally caused by blow-by past the rings I think my motor is actually healthy. Now while I don't that much about engines looking at it the PCV looks stupidly small and I suspect that it is just enough for an unmodified engine so combined with my engine making a lot more power and having a higher redline it just can't keep up.

I would like to hear what other people think about the subject.

I know on worked 16v engines it common to run a breather from each cam cover to the catch can.
Also the breather pipe on the GZE is larger than the GE.

They do tend to undersized, but it usually becomes more pronounced when running boost. I agree, try cleaning it dirt and then consider increasing the size.

it seems to flow ok, I mean the 16V ones at a glance look to be an ok size but the 20v one is literally about 3mm max in diameter and not including the restriction of the valve itself

the PCV allows air to be sucked into intake right? and the breather lets the air out of crankcase to before the intake..

so when the PCV is working, the breather lets air IN to the engine...

ie, look at the breather, not the PCV valve.. since PCV valve does nothing when you are on throttle anyway

    Correct OldRollas.

At idle, cruise, overrun, the blowby will be pulled out of the crankcase via the PCV, and fresh air drawn in by the breather.
Under power, the PCV will be closed and blowby will exit out the breather.

I would have to agree the breather pipe is the culprit check to make sure there are no kinks in the pipe.
