Default Oil filter relocation + oil cooler FAQ

    hey all

im fitting a oil filter relocation kit into my supra (ga70-1ggte manual) what i wanna ask is if im doing things correct.

ive got the outlet on the housing, running the feed (outside part) to my filter first, then running the filtered line too my cooler, its mounted in the bumper in the area of the fog light. its then a direct down fitting in one side and then a direct up fitting thru the chassis and out into the "in" port on the block.

now i know this should be right but im no professional so i just wanna know if om doing anything wrong and if there is a chance that i might end up having a air lock/bubble in the system or anything else like that.

also the legal side of things in QLD, i read the booklet and didnt see any problems but yeah

    cheers

Make sure the outlet on the cooler is on the highest side so air isn't trapped.
I also tend to mount the oil filter pointing downwards for the same reason.

cool thanks man, ive fitted the cooler on it side due to location, having the line from the fliter to the bottome of the cooler and the outlet up high, sound right?

and am i right to pour oil into the cooler and filter before initial startup as i dont want that much time in for the system to be dry while it builds pressure? or will that cause air pockets?

as long as the inlets and outlets are plumbed correctly it is ok. and obviously make sure no kinks in hose etc.

there is nothing wrong in primin the system with oil before hand, what I used to do was disconnect the ignition and turn it over on the starter to fill the system.

Personally(in my ride), I'd make sure the system uses a thermostatically controlled assembly. This allows full warm up and then once oil temp is up, a plunger changes the oil path to force it out to the cooler.

Mocal adapter is the one I used....

    there are others
