you can run your turbo with-out running coolant through it. it wont be bye bye turbo.
you may not be running a heater box anymore, but the outlet/inlet to the heater will still be on your engine, plumb them to your turbo.

Hey Guys,
I've cut my car up, installed V-mount for the rice and epic drifto, booked the car into get the ECU wired/tuned up next week and I need to get the cooling system sorted out before it goes in.
From all the googling I have done, it looks like most ppl run water to the turbo by tee 'ing off the heater lines. Not running a heater box so I'm hoping it is as easy as the diagram below.
What I don't know if the line from the turbo to the header tank will flow enough to cool the turbo and not too much to create too much pressure and bye bye turbo. Or simply if what I am thinking is just completely wrong and there is a way better way to do it?
Has anyone run a header tank on there 4agte and if so help please? Any advice would be great and photo's would be awesome too!

Coolant line that go to the throttle body are another good option.

I was more concerned by the change in size from the 15mm heater lines to the 8m or so inlets on the header tank.
I talked to one of the mechanical engineers from work and he said that there would be a small increase in flow velocity and a slight decrease in pressure, (as per venturi effect) but it would be very minimal due to the short length of the hoses. So that problem is solved.
Yer feral4mr2 as per the the engine cooling system diagram, I am definitely using the rear water housing to supply water to the turbo, its right next to turbo, it seems like the easiest solution.
So, after that the coolant flows from the Turbo to header tank and header tank empties into ae92 remote thermostat housing?
Is this the best way to do it? Anyone done it before want to let us know how they did it?

ive done it before, but im not entirely convinced with the results. the header tank made the car much more stable (temp) but it still has a fit at the track. temp will be fine, then start to rise, then the temp gauge rockets up, then down then up, till i back off and cruise around. very annoying.
i tapped a fitting into the top of the water outlet for the back of the head, used the old throttle body water line and put the last bleed into the lower radiator pipe. however my turbo draws water from a fitting on the thermostat housing. will get a pic when i can get down to the garage

i cannot see any reason why a header tank is needed???
need to have a point in the cooling system higher then the head, usually its the radiator, but in this case its v mount and is lower.

as per the diagram and what I have said above, the header tank will empty into remote thermostat housing which returns to the radiator. Not to the head. That would kind of defeat the whole point if hot water is returning to the block.
