Are you sure that they had two water temp sensors for the thermo fans?
As some of you may or may not know i am in the process of putting a st182 3sge gen 2 into my st162.
The old 3sge only has one thermo temp sensor for the radiator fan, on the water inlet. This gen 2 3sge has two, one in the radiator (like the 5sfe st184), and one at the water outlet.
can i just use the one at the water outlet? (as i don't have a thermo temp sensor fitting or ability to fit a thermo temp sensor into my radiator) I tried to fit my original water inlet with the temp sensor, but the stud spacing on the water pump is significantly different, so no go
Theres no risk or error or issues that it could cause of just using the water outlet thermo sensor from the gen 2 3sge? It will be using the original thermo fan switch from the old gen 1.
What doe everyone else usually do?
Thanks heaps and in advance,
as always, its appreciated greatly.

An educated guess tell me that I think one was for the temp gauge, the other sensor was used to trigger the fan.
The second fan is switched on when the aircon was turned on...
I could be wrong though.

Yeah that would be my understanding as well for the 3sgte at least. Only the switch at the bottom of the radiator switches the fans based on temperature. That way the fans only switch on when the radiators need help and the water coming out of the radiators is too hot.
The other temp sensor on the neck is for the temp guage.
