Out of curiosity, was the 18RG modified hence defected?
The 22RE is found in Corona's and also in Celica RA65's - not the Celica-Supra's (which had M Series engines)
Best of luck

edit: haha defected?! in indonesia?! that would be funny
pretty much unbolt the the 18rg and put the 22re in
-you will need to find the ignition wire from the key barrel and connect it to the appropriate wire in the ecu
-then you need to find the start wire and connect it to the starter motor
-either install a surge tank with a high volume low pressure pump and an EFI pump, you will need relays for this from that ignition circuit OR put and in tank EFI pump in and make sure you keep it full of fuel
cant comment on tailshafts or gearbox cross member mods but the whole thing will be pretty straight forward
People on an American Celica site might have more idea as the 22R was a common engine for their Celicas..though someone here is bound to know.
Hi,
It would be cheaper and less hassle to put in an 18R-C engine... assuming these are available in Indonesia. It's a direct bolt in, save for some fiddling of the throttle linkages.
The 22RE will require fuel pumps, which I assume you do not have (as you have the carby 18R-G?). Also, the bell housing dowel is slightly different on the 22RE as opposed to the 18R series of engines, so you'll have to get that sorted to fit the engine.
