    Default a42de vs a340e

    Hey guys,

    This is the first time Ive had to post here for help, because normally its been covered before...

    I have gz20 soarer...
    Not a 1g-gte or even a 1g-ge, but a 1g-e...

    Anyway, It has a blown trans....
    Its missing the build plate, so without knowing any better, I got an a340e...
    But it turns out it has an A42DE....

    All I can find out is this came in z10's aswell, but not much more...
    So before I start something I cant finish,

    Does anyone know if they be swapped or do I need an a42de...?

    What other cars came with this trans, and are they hard to come by ? (apart from z10s)
    I would assume mk2 supras?

    Im not too keen on doing anything much with this, apart from being a daily...
    Im not interested in a manual swap at the moment but If costs are too high Id rather sell it , part it or convert it at a much later date, as I already have other projects...

    MX 73 Cressi runs the same auto.

    Might be able to use A340E, but to be on the safe side get the a340e bell and torque converter, also tailshaft might be different.. Also may have to re-use A42DE's speed sensor gear to get correct reading,

    Easier to just find a replacement a42de

    Ill just put a 7m with the a340e and the 1g-e and a42de are going here:
