    Question Engineer's in SA???

    Heyy Guys,

Just about to start the conversion but i need to try to find some people in SA that do engineer reports. I have called Tonkin Consulting and been quoted $1200 and that includes a handling and braking test but i need to hire out a venue as well and that aprox $600. So is there someone else in SA that have had some good experiences with a engineer as well as some info on what i will need to actually do.

    Just sone extra info,
    Im putting a 1G-GZE into an RN85 2wd hilux.

    Any help would be great,

    Thanks Guys

You wont be lucky to find prices less than that mate. All engineers are bout same prices.

But i heard good things about Rory Thompson

Another option is Doug Potts. I haven't used him so no idea but worth a call (details below).

Dont go with Doug Potts, he is a nutter.
Nice guy, but takes 10x as long to get work done and then charges for that time.
Took him about 1yr to do an approval to modify application for me and then charged me >$1k for it!

    Go with Rory Thompson.
I had a good chat with him over the weekend.
Nice guy, knows his stuff (used to fly to Japan to consult on Toyota steering systems for example) and is very reasonably priced.

okayyy i think i have found a guy. Given Rory a call, didn't bother with Doug as my dad knows him and i know he is extremely easy to get things written off but he is expensive as we have heard from man accounts. Im going to be using Tonkin Consulting
