Check in the manual mate, should be in there somewhere.

My 7mgte keeps building up crankcase pressure and blowing the dipstick out. Looking at the photo it is quite obvious to see that the hose is kinked and that is whats restricting it from breathing. But what I don’t understand is how this works. You would think that the hose would have to go before the turbo rather than after so that it constantly has vacuum. Wouldn’t this force pressure into the engine when it is in boost. The bloke that owned it before me recons he never had a problem when it wasn’t kinked. Anyway, I just want to be certain that its right before I put a new hose on there.
Cheers.

That isn't hooked up right. He's got the PCV hooked into the stock bov pipe. Pretty sure it should be connected to the accordian hose before the turbo.
Yup, having it connected there would also cause the turbo to pressurise the crank case.
Not good.

From memory the bottom of that hose (ie, where it connects to) should go pre-turbo.
And the top connection goes to the BOV, and then pre-turbo

yup.. that should be connected after the AFM but before the turbo.
Then put the factory BOV back on (or at least cap it off to get the car running properly).
If he is missing the factory BOV, then just get a little bosch recirc one and plumb it back, again after AFM, before turbo.

its got an aftermarket noise maker, so just needs to block the BOV pipe off. (AFM issues asside)
Well I hope the main seals can handle 10 psi lol. Blocking off the bov hose should be easy but how do you think I should go about the pcv hose?
I forgot to mention the car has a microtech so there is no afm

All you need to do, is plumb that PCV back into the inlet, after the filter but before the turbo.

Perfect, Thanks guys![]()
Well, I have done exactly what cruzida has illustrated and the engine is now breathing properly but now a new problem has come up. The car now seems a lot slower and is only making about 5psi. I blocked the bov hose off with a brass cap thing and put a hose clamp around it so I don’t think that the boost would be escaping there.
