Speedo has stopped working.

Gday have a MX 73 with 1jzgte and w58 and my speedo started to flutter then stopped working all together havent pulled out cable from box yet but checked at dash and seems to be working fine.
Any ideas would be great.

would hazzard a guess that there is a break in the gearbox end...

otherwise it might of got clogged up with grime over the years ive heard of some people hanging the cable vertically and running some oil down it or alternatively spraying degreaser through it...

If it's been driven at high speed ie off the clock you may have burnt out the magnets in the instrument cluster. Happend to a mates mx83 ;-)

They flutter when they start to seize, I'd say it's probably seized altogether and broken.
