Got a blow torch?
Hi,
I have an issue with a front wheel-bearing. Car is a KE70 running XT130 struts.
The outer wheel-bearing decided to disintegrate itself, hence needing replacement. Problem is, I can't get the old bearing off the stub-axle. I have a bearing puller, but since all that is left of the old bearing is the inner casing, there is very little to grip onto and the puller keeps slipping off when force is applied.
Any suggestions? I am at my wits end here!!
Cheers,
Alex

No blowtorch, unfortunately.
Get one.
Pick up a small MAP gas one from Bunnings.

100mm angle grinder, score the casing with the grinder then using an old cold chisel give it a good hit. The casing will crack and release the tension.

I would use the angle grinder method. This is how i remove rear wheel bearings from the axles.
