Default 4age - most "responsive" turbo options

OK, I hope I dont get flamed for this topic (knowing my luck I prolly will).
There is copious amounts of threads on 4age turbo setups.... it is so overwhelming the information is becoming confusing. And also there is alot of irrelevent talk you have to weed through too.
So I just decided to ask straightup.
A turbo setup... using a ae92 gze base...
What are some of the turbochargers that will be the most responsive. (Not searching for power figures).
I know a sc obviously is the most responsive as it is driven by the crank... but if one was to go the turbo option........

I know you said that you wernt looking for power figures however first you have to detirmin the ammount of power you want to make to determin the right size turbine there is no point in having something that spools up at 1500rpm but you find that it dosent make enough power or the power/boost drops off early.

I hear the hks 2510 is a nice turbo for the 4ag's spools quite early and has the ability to make 180-190 kw atw i think big worm has this turbo and is quite happy with it.

Yep the gt2510 is a good one. If you're simply looking for response, maybe a t25 or also a td04 would be a good option. Or try a GTR t28 with a 0.46AR housing.

    4agte finally completed. 234rwkw @ 8125rpm. Tis fun

That's what I use and it's very responsive. Never ever feels like you're waiting for boost, ever They can be had pretty cheaply too.

I was talking with a mechanic at a conversion workshop today. Someone who's opinion I respect when it comes to these things.
    He said, and I quote

"I've seen twincharged engines, I've built twincharge engines, and at the end of it all you've done is add 50kg or whatever it is to your engine. I dyno'd an 18rg with a supercharger, and a 3tg with a turbo. Above 1800rpm, the 3tg beat it throughout the range. With the turbo technology out now, it's really not worth the hassle."

It's certainly got me re-evalating my ideas.

Dead true, gone are the days of waiting until 5000rpm for a feeble amount of boost through til redline from some prehistoric "snail". Technology and knowledge on how to build and tune forced induction vehicles - particularly turbos has come a long way.

Off topic I know, but I feel the point of twin charging is so you can run a relatively huge turbo given your motor size. This will give you a silly top end. And the supercharger covers the bottom of the rev range, giving boost where otherwise there would only be lag. Also if you gear the SC nicely and switch it off at high revs, you can make it pump out big boost without overspeeding it.

However I also understand the above points apply to less extreme situations.

    Such as this example:

But in reality most examples such as the old HKS one for the 4AGZE just made a complicated network of plumbing with little gains.

Oh and to add to this topic remember that other factors in your setup effect turbo responsiveness such as intercooler pipe length and diameter, intercooler size, plenum size, exhaust size etc etc.

Are these off a specific model GTR or are they the same accross all models (I'm assuming by GTR you mean the nissan type).
How cheap is "cheaply" (ballpark figure)?
