    Hi timcorona,
Lag followed by light switch style power band I'm guessing... Great for spectators!

I would suggest that the question of hard to fit or not depends on your skill level and or bank balance.
    The T04 I'm guessing is a T3 exhaust flange?
The T28 or GT2860 are both T2 exhaust flange, so an adapter, manifold modifications, or replacement manifold would be in order.
Now I'm not the turbo guru, however I would be bold enough to suggest the smallest T3 flange garrett turbo GT3071R with a .63 exhaust housing for good spool performance might be worth considering. This could be a bolt up to the manifold solution and possibly suit existing water and oil lines.
As for dump pipe you will most likely need something fabricated or at minimum a new flange welded to existing dump, and intake side 'might' get away with a new silicone adapter hose if very lucky!

    Thats my 2c worth anyhows.

By the way any vids or pics of car on drift circuit???

    Cheers,
    Jason

    Nice vid mate!

According to Garrett the GT3071R is good for 1.8L-3.0L engines producing from 300HP to 460HP. As this is of course at the flywheel I would guess that it should have you covered there.

I will hazard a guess that for drifting a broad predictable powerband would be the desired characteristic from your engine. Even 'if' you were to sacrifice a couple of top end ponies going from the T04 to a smaller turbo such as the above I think the resulting kick in the pants from rather low rpm would more than compensate the difference. I have a possibly unjustified loathing of the old T04 as a rather inefficient old style turbo better suited to light trucks, and would definatly replace it with the Disco Potato 28rs in a heartbeat!

Speaking of the Disco Potato, Garrett rates them as suitable for 1.8 to 3.0L engines making 250 to 360HP, so I would definatly lean toward the bigger GT3071.

    Cheers,
    Jason

I have a disco potato on my 1ggte, it puts out 230rwkw at 18psi. postitve pressure starts at 2800 and full boost by about 3500-3800, its a good setup.

Soon to be for sale as well.

the t04's are t4 flange, so either an adapter will need to be sourced or a new mani made to go to a t2 or t3 flange.

gt3076r rated at 460hp ? im pretty shaw they are a 450-650hp turbo.

how long have you had this setup for ?, i can understand a tight circuit youd want more response but for drifting you should be pinned the whole time and if your not clutch it.
i dont have a funny or cool signature.

My bad: I was actually intending to refer to the GT3071R as per my first post.

Your bad: Garrett rates the GT3076R at 310 - 525HP.

    Cheers,
    Jason

P.S. I have edited my posts above, so fixeruperer has quoted me correctly...

well i bought the car with the engine already in ive done thge cage and whole suspension setup
just trying to get better responce and less lag
so the GT3076R is ther better choice rather than the disco potato
i have looked round what are they off and wat sort of price would u be thinking for a 2nd hand one

No worries, if you didnt have a programmable ems, you could gain spool time by messing with the timing to bring the the turbo on a little sooner, since you do, its a moot point for you assuming it is tuned correctly.
