    Default st215 3sgte into st185 with a difference

I am in the middle of putting st215 3sgte parts onto st185 block with st185 turbo st205 headers and downpipe, with megasquirt msII V3 ecu, i really just wanted to change head but it got out of control.

If anyone could help with below any of below problems it may save a life or possible admitance to mental hospital.

    1. are the crank and cam sensors both VR or just the cam one?

2.from left to rightlooking down what are the 4 pin outs on coils?

3.timing belt 177 teeth, but how many teeth on water pump 22(54mm dia) or 23(57mm dia)?

    4. has anyone converted megasquirt II with missing dissy teeth to ms2 extra using edis and cop?

    5. has anyone else but silly me replaced cpu chip on daughterboard of megasquirt2 v3 ?

    6. does it hurt to run 2 oil filters?

    7. does block mount oil filter need to be water cooled?

8.anyone know where i can get a return throttle spring for st215 without have to buy whole section?

    1. Yes both are VR sensors

    3. Will measure for you tonight

    6. Can't see why not. You can buy aftermarket remote filter bases (Fram I think) that do a dual filter setup so if you have space go for it. There might be a slight pressure loss due to the extra filter if you run them inline.

    7. No but if your oil is getting too hot you may need to run a remote oil cooler instead.

So I'm guessing you've changed the oil pump & the sump in order to run the ST215 crank sensor?

    2. get a toyota manual or consult someone who specialises in the aftermarket ECUs

    3. why does the number of teeth matter? The pump will run at a slightly different speed

    6. Why? There are places that sell remote mount filter kits for these. Or use one of the sandwich plates to then run a oil cooler

    7. I figure if Toyota thought it was a good idea. Rally cars didn't but they ran other systems to keep the oil cool.

    8. NZ wrecker or an importer who's prepared to separate the throttle body. Have you checked whether the part is similar to other Toyota models?

    4. You would not use the edis module to preform COP, so I assume you are talking about a 36-1 crank trigger disk and vr sensor, with a cam sensor teath knock off to give a home signal.

Yes this could work quite easily, but I have to ask why? I thought the 3sgte had a two vr sensors in the CAS that run 24 and 2 teeth. Megasquirt has provision for this setup (24/2) and COP.

    6. If you are talking about megasquit II duaghter board on v3.0 main board, I have seen this done lots. If you are talking megasquirt 3 on v3.0 board to run seqential injection this is fairly new and only just came on the market. I belive the v3.0 board has a vr input on the board and the duagter board has second vr circuit so you should be all vr upped.

^^^^ Which head is being used?

May want to make sure you read everything

BTW, if you change to a Gen 3/4 water pump, then you could use the coolant plumbing off it maybe, and then you could also maybe use the Gen 4 oil cooler (got one sitting here redundant).

Got a few other left over Gen 3/4 bits sitting around here.

Water pump pulley is about 55mm diameter. Can't count the teeth as I'm not pulling it off.

thats great, since i changed the 48 pin chip on daughter board i have not been able to upload code via serial port only by 6 pin interface on daughter board via usb multilink interface, ive contacted freescale who make the chip but my c language is very rusty, do you have a code warrior program that will access the serial port?, since the daughter boards come pre coded

Dont bother asking freescale, i very much doubt they will help you.
    Ask on the MS forums.
