definately not a t50, much smaller and they slit in half lengthways. this looks more heavy duty possibly out of an early hilux? maybe even a toyota stout

Kinda looks like a G5x, but I thought they had a 4th rib across the top like the W5x does.
The R15x doesn't have the 4th rib, but it doesn't look big enough.

Go get a W5x bellhousing and see if it fits.

    Hi,

i'd be going for a g5x as a guess too. The shifter part of it looks different to any w5x i can find

Identical internally to W5x boxes, however gear ratio's are more set up for commercial use.
Found predominently in Hilux's and Hiace's (and things of that nature)

It's out of a 2WD Hilux. I'd say its a W56 with a different tail shaft to the 4wd W56, they are exactly the same except for the tail housing which can be swapped over.

Nice and strong. Slightly funny ratios though.

Looks like it might be a 4speed because of the short area behind the center plate. Maybe a W46 or so. They have a really odd gear ratio. Here in the states they ran a 3.08 rear gear for these trannys. Great for drag racing with 4.10-4.30 gears though. Good luck with it.

are the gears interchangable between the W series boxes?

    Just looked up the ratio difference between a W56 and a T50 as i have a T-18/TE72

    W56
    1st - 3.954.1
    2nd - 2.141.1
    3rd - 1.384.1
    4th - 1.00.1
    5th - 0.85.1

    T50
    1st - 3.587.1
    2nd - 2.022.1
    3rd - 1.384.1
    4th - 1.00.1
    5th - 0.861.1
