I know F all about wiring and such - but just in case its something simple - could the vaccuum lines be around the wrong way Matty?

Thats as helpful as I can be

could always be a bad ecu? when i threw 12v across the 5v side in my ecu and cooked the caps i found it would run without the map sensor but not with it connected, but put on a good ecu and it worked fine

My call is fuel pump also. Does this particular engine have a fuel pump voltage switching circuit with fuel pump resistor?

If so, is one of the determining factors of fuel pump voltage the map sensor output?

Could it therefore be having trouble running at low voltage, only working at high?

You raise a good point Tristan.
While I can guarantee they aren't using the fuel pump resistor (thus voltage isn't an issue), do you have the COR hooked up to the correct output?
ie, is it accidently hooked up to the fuel pump resistor relay output?

In ammendment... engines require very little to run. Spark, fuel, air.

Monitor all aspects of each of these (fuel pump, injector operation if possible, ignition etc).. and find the one or ones that are stopping when the motor stalls.. knowing this will narrow down the possibilities significantly
