I can't say for sure - most piston to bore clearances are between 1 and 3 thou (depending on the type of piston, cast, forged, alloys etc). Usually there are manufacturer recommended specs that your machine shop *will* know (or if they don't, they should find out before they do the machining). Often aftermarket pistons come with recommended clearances too (and where to measure them from etc).

You need to stop panicking about your rebuild

dont set forgies at 1 thou , you will see why when it gets hot.
1 thou is good for cast pistons in smaller motors , you will have to be gental running it in tho , most machinests bore to 2 and a bit to cater for thrash and go people.

so dont go wit 1 thou.. so you think go with 2 thou then.

also where can I find oil clearences for the pins and bottom end of hte motor, torque settings for oil pump.. big end caps... timing details and things.. I do have a manual for a 4age 16v so I wasnt sure if it was the same.

1.5 thou is a good , still have to be a little carefull when running in, but u end up with nice quiet pistons , less rattle = less wear.
if the 4ag you plan to build doesnt have forged pistons then id go 1.5 thou . up to your builder tho as some will say thats to tight.

for forged i'd go atleast .0025-.003" clearance. especially if you going to be turning up the wick later on.. (now if they were some aftermarket pistons then you would go with what they say to do.)

my turbo engine has .0055-.006" clearance. she only rattles on very cool mornings but otherwise I dont notice it. after shes warmed up it goes away..

your specs will be the same as a 4age so use the work shop manual m8

As for the piston pin specs i had trouble finding some when i built mine. I just made sure that the pin moved through piston and rod easily (not too tight) i used a bit of 1200 on my finger to clean up the piston (where pin goes through)

go with a 4agze specs they may not be the same a n/a 4age with cast pistons.. especially if your going to run more then stock boost, then the factory specs are out the window also..
