JUSTCALLMEFRANK i'm a lil confused as to why it's not as important running 3" further down the system. The system will only breathe as well as the smallest part of the system right. Oh yeah, and being twin turbo wouldn't you need 2 pipes off the turbo as there are 2 turbos?
i wastold that there would only be enough room to run 2" pipe off the turbos on my RT142. is this true?
p.s. sorry for such a noob question i'm just learning about this engine.

The air cools down and slows down as it progresses, you'll find the biggest gains will come from the first half of the system and getting the exhaust gases from the turbo . Thats not to say there isn't any "theoretical" advantage to running a full 3" system, but it didn't seem to hold back my car making 164rwkw on the factory ECU.

The factory has a Y-pipe which joins the two turbos together, with one exhaust coming out. I *have* seen a twin-dump setup, but there is SFA room there.

I can't see there being *that* little room on the RT142, go speak to someone who will happily do a custom exhaust and see what they can fit being a little creative.

ahhh a collector ay. good idea. So what is the internal diametre of this Y pipe. Is it worth getting them to remake this in say a 3" or would the cost for the flange plates and what not just make it stupid. I'm not going for major all out power. i need more response really.

The factory Y-pipe is cast, has the two exhausts basically blowing into each other, with a roughly 2.5" outlet on the bottom of it. I would just hook up a 3" dump to this like I did. The Y-pipes look like WAY too much work for the amount of benefit they'd offer.

I've run 3" the whole way.. Sounds the nuts, but it's kinda loud...

And funny to uys, you guys have trapped speeds the same as me, yet your 2 seconds slower?

i didnt have an LSD in at the time. i also had factory springs in
the diff pretty much takes 30% of the weight off the inside wheel.

I've only trapped 100MPH as my fastest. Big difference between that and 108! I'll hopefully be comfortably over the 100MPH mark, probably around 103MPH next Wednesday.
