well the pressure plate is a fairly strong one.. how punchy does the clutch pedal feel?.. im thinkin its just a hard clutch and youll need to get used to driving with it..
ps. reverse is always a bitch with heavy clutches and pressure plates..
Hey guys
Well today I took my jzx out the shed for its first drive in a long time its been off the road having work done in this time I put a brand new extreme clutch in with a near new extreme lightened chromoly flywheel below are the details
Details : with DSB Disc and Motor-Sport Cover
Specifications : Clamp Load = 1350Kg
Now I dunno how these clutches feel on normal but on take off in first and reverse it felt like it wamted to shake the car apart real bitey and as im easing the clutch out kinda grabbing and being weird Im unsure if its the clutch itself or the way I installed it as its my first experience with the toyota pull type any help or advice would be so appreciated at this stage im a bit worried and am not driving it haha
ps has brand new thrust bearing, spigot bush etc
Cheers
Benno

A clutch disk needs 2 smooth parallel surfaces to come together against it so it doesn't shudder/judder/shake, or the absence of oil on it.
I don't know what your 'details' means except that the flywheel surface is probably OK, so I think your pressure plate is bad. Grabbing & shaking at normal/low RPM takeoffs should disappear if you up the RPM & ease it out no matter what the disk type/design is. Soft suspension & motor & trans mounts don't help.
'I've scrapped better.' John stated when asked about the car by the guy with the silver tipped cowboy boots!
mine does the same if you dont rev it enough. you just have to find the sweet spot to take of but im still trying to find that sweet spot hahaha. they can be a pain.
