mx83 - jzx81 not shifting dramas
hi all, i have bough a mx83 with jzx81 motor, auto and loom fitted. the auto was not wired in and thus was not reviving any shifting directions from the jzx computer and relying on the auto shifter position. ie. L = 1st, 2 =2nd for a split second then 3rd, then D = 4 overdrive. i have rewired the ecu - body loom plug to suit the different pin locations.
the car will now engage 1st when i put it in D but will not shift out of 1st. i am assuming this is a problem with the speed sensor. i have placed a probe on the speed sensor wire and i get a changing value as the car speeds up. so i assume the the wire i have picked in the mx83 loom is correct. i have wired it like this

yep fair point, and that was the first thing i looked into, but the thing is this cressida had no abs. i have cut the sp2 wire at the computer with no effect, still stuck in 1st.
