Hope this day turns out great for them. free dyno run is pretty sweet

What is the Biggest Dyno Day All About?
The biggest dyno day is the result of a group of enthusiastic automotive trades' people wanting a challenge, that involved all of their skills.
The preparation and organisation of this day is one to take your hat off to. It is a BIG event.
9 dynos around Australia all running at the same time.
All dynos are video linked so that the audience watching at one venue, will be able to watch the rest of Australia do their runs.
Not being able to select one brand of dyno to use (as each workshop own different dyno brands), they have agreed to select ramp rates for the cars they are dynoing to 'standardize' the results as much as possible.
They have decided to select prizes on horsepower-per-cubic inche, as this allows smaller cars a chance to win.
Due to the different dynos being used they have agreed not to compete state against state. Each dyno will award their own prizes, but there may be a shoot out at the end of the night.
The orangizational group consists of over 60 automotive trades’ people. With their knowledge and understanding of what the public wanted, they came up with this idea.
Most of the venues will have mulitple workshops working together, bringing the trade even closer (yet another strange thing to be done). For example, in some states we have workshops flying staff in to help out another workshop.
To be involved in something like this is a once in a lifetime experience, if not to run your car, just to be there to watch.
Each venue is in control of their own entertainment. Separate entertainment will include things such as show and shine, sound offs and race cars for show.
Free entry for spectators, BBQ and drinks on site.
These guys are trying to make this the biggest dyno event in Australia’s automotive history and to have fun doing it.
The Biggest Dyno Day is the result...

I dont understand the purpose of this?
Pretty sure dynos are used as a tuning tool which results in a power figure...yeah sure we can all compare our e-peen..i mean power figure but for what purpose?

What's not to love about driving your modified car for an hour and a half on a weekend? Sounds like a good way to spend a day to me, especially if it involves an event & bbq in the middle
Fark, a bunch of dudes in old celicas that should barely go past the corner shop are happy to cruise all over the show to compare tweed pants next to a ferry on the Hawkesbury, how hard can it be?
[of course the comment on Celica buffs is purely tongue-in-cheek to make a point, i'll be there amongst them ]

sounds good to me.
like the idea of the screen to watch everyone else's run as well.
As they say in the book, assembly is the reverse of dismantling, but slower cos you forgot where all the bits are
Is this meant for the kilowatt kings or can anyone have a go? Im expecting about 50rwkw lol I just wanna dyno my car but if it's only meant for people making lots of power then I'm not going to get in the way and I'll just wait for another dyno day. Car was off the road for the Toymods one
Also can't seem to find a price.
[T]echnology is the only [R]eplacement for [D]isplacement
I think this is a kilowatt king sort of a deal, check the website to double check though.

Speaking of 'enjoyable' drives rather, when are you next planning to head to Wakefield Ben? I'm keen as soon as I get a couple of small mods finished.
Cheers
