Question Solex twin carbs on 2T

I've got a rebuilt set of solex carbs to put on my 2T with the correct manifold for adapting solex's to a 2T.

Question: What do I do with the lower crankcase vent - it originally tapped into the inlet manifold - and the upper tappet vent that originally tapped into the air cleaner?

    Thanks

The one that went to the inlet manifold will need to be put back onto the inlet by drilling a hole tapping a thresd and running a fitting for it to connect to.

The one that went into the air cleaner will either have to be put onto one (or both) air filters or again drill another hole into the inlet manifold

These breathers are very improtant for the engine if you don't run them the thing will leak oil out of every hole it's got and cause some serious damage.

    Thanks for the info!

As a further question - the 2tg block I have sitting in the shed doesn't seem to have lower crankcase breather. Whats the story with ventilation in these?

The 2T-G's have the cam chain running from the dummy cam to the two head cams. This opens up the ventilation from the sump to the head and no external ventilation is needed from the block. On the single cam engines the front chain cover stops just below the head and doesn't vent any higher.

    thread revival...
I have recently posted a how to on this without the need to pay the top dollars for a new manifold.
Using the existing manifold i made up an adapter plate to suit the 2t and works a treat.
All instructions and pics on the link, or i can make one up - $180.00 + freight
