Hi all,
aaaaaaaages ago I got this diff on a pallet of parts I purchased. I was sold to me as a "2way", and it was sold to the previous owner as a "2way" as well. Neither myself OR the previous owner have ever actually used the diff in a car.
I'm looking to sell this diff, but want to work out what it is first, not only so I can accurately advertise it, but also because I'm curious
I have a G-series TRD 2Way in my Cressida. Before that I had a grande LSD, and before than an open diff. On all of those, I've been able to turn the two stub axles separately. Obviously the LSD and the 2way are hard to do that to, but it can be done.
On this a70 diff, I can't seem to do that. They always turn together, as if it's locked. The previous owner said he had a couple of breaker bars on the opposing axle stubs, but couldn't get them to turn separately.
I recently popped the rear cover off and had a look/took some pics. I'm no expert, but it looks to me like it's an LSD of some sort, and I can't see any weld in the centre. I could be way off though, so please feel free to correct me

I had trouble getting a good photo of what's inside the centre, but let me know if there's something i should look for and i'll see what i can do... maybe a different camera might work better
Cheers
James
