Suddenly boosting/revving with little/no additional throttle

Hi Guys,

Have had a weird problem in how my 1jz auto drives. It would have no power or be low on power, and all of a sudden it would boost and rev with no additional gas. I would be slowly giving it gas, very slowly and all of a sudden, revs go up and boost goes up by 3 psi or so in a short period of time. I was suggested that the stock BOV could be intermittently leaking or sealing up so I bypassed that but the exact same problem.

I'm either thinking something wrong with the turbos or wastegates or could a slipping Auto trans do this? Is there anyway to tell what is doing it exactly? And if it's the turbos what exactly could cause the problem I'm describing?

At times it would just feel low on power, and i give it a bit extra gas and it just begins boosting all of a sudden.

Any ideas?
