Hey guys just helping a mate of mine biuld a KE20 corrolla i'm wondering did they EVER come out with a rev tacho as part of the dash??
We've got Speedo in one section then in the other there is oil,temp,fuel & charge and there is no prevision for a rev tacho anywhere.
Has anyone put in a rev tacho into one or gat a dash with one in it i REALLY do'nt want to put a monster tacho on it want to keep it original as possible but if anyone has done anything like mounted one in the dash any advice would be much appreciated

KE20 did come out with a tacho, but it was a stewart warner and it was mounted on the dash. It only came out in the SL model. pretty sure it was an option on the AMI ones. Wish I still had mine.! Not much help if you want a in dash type

Yes a TE27 cluster will set you back roughly $400.
As above, there was a pod factory option which was mounted roughly in the centre of the dash pad. My fathers new KE20 had one. Recently there was a nifty bar type factory Corolla tacho on ebay. I think it sold for about $70. Hadn't seen one of those before Is that a Stewart Warner?

Keep an eye on the US ebay site. I got a RHD, KM/H, TE27 tacho dash delivered for roughly $180 aus, maybe a little less. I know I could sell it for easily $400 and make some cash... but then im not going to have one when I need it.
If you see one on the Aus ebay the bidding just gets ridiculous, there must be a few people out there building TE27 replicas because TE27 parts on Aus ebay sell for a fortune. but in the US they are all TE27s so its not so hard for them to find parts, and anything that is RHD doesnt get touched.
ebay FTW!! just be patient, it took me over 12 months to find a dash in the condition I wanted for the price I wanted.
ps. I check AUS and US ebay pretty well everyday, if I come across another dash I shall let you know.

I picked up a factory tacho dash from an sl model which has a wood grain look instead of the black when i was in n.z a couple of years ago. Paid $30 for it but saving for when i buy another ke26.

can't see why it wouldn't work, if you went aftermarket gauges throughout.
