Hey petespipes, do you have the specs for your particular GT30r, like the CHRA number? I assume its an 0.82 exhaust A/R ratio too?

    Cheers

I'm keen to see your results on the GT30R Pete, what inlet and exhaust housings you use, and what ECU, injectors, and transmission etc you match it with

Something with the responsiveness of the steelies I have now (that hit 0 boost at 2500rpm) but with a massive top end would be lovely. I have 272rwhp at the moment, around 350 would be lovely

same setup as Slylux on the old forums but he had his sorted and mine is not..82 rear.I think i will be very happy running this on a 3 litre motor.[accepting that most would think it too small]

I have a self made 6 into 3 into long collector steam pipe, ceramic coated and wrapped manifold, all i could do to promote early spool.I am sure most people would be happy with the response if used to a single turbo.

I am used to a really good result on stock turbos that returned 302rwhp at 14.5psi and boosted strong from 3000rpm so for me the power is coming on too strong and too late for a daily driver.[kicks in hard at 4000]

car is 92 mx83 cressi grande [heavy] stock lsd diff,r154 ratio does 100kmh at 3000in 5th if the speedo corrector is reading true.

edit-chra numbers-hope these are correct.i have 700177-0014 for the gt30r and -0011 for the 3076.quoting jampac the 3076 produces 270rwkw at 19psi and is showing positive 5psi at 2900rpm.I reckon that the ducks nuts for a single turbo daily driver 1j.

edit.just ordered a 3076 from Ray Hall.[$1695] i think this is now the best price around.the NEW numbers for these turbos-
    gt30r [also called gt3040]was 700177-14 with a .82 AR is now 774730/2
gt3076 [rated at around 475hp] only available in .82AR is now 774067/1

numbers according to Debra at Ray Hall turbochargers.[today]

I tuned the wastegate on the gt3076 today and saw 5psi at 3000 and my preset max of 15psi at 4000 which is all i have fuel for [still running on the old tune of 302rwhp at 14.5psi for stock turbos]

interesting to note is that I used my old Hiperboost air bleed control to control the Tial 38mm im using and no problem.Wastegate doesnt open one iota before 15psi is reached then holds 13.5 as long as you like up to rev limit if you like.

I am [fully\totally] lets reject that crap talk.I am completely satisfied with the response of this smaller turbo and look forward to adjusting the tune to allow perhaps 380rwhp once i can figure out an economical way to provide enough fuel while keeping the SAFC 2 on fuel\air duties.

More power to you all in the coming year

Thought i'd add some more details to this thread on this turbo and exactly how it goes on a 1jz-gte.

I did this last night. 3rd gear (a340e auto) pull from 1500rpm up to 4000rpm. Stall converter was locked the whole time. Saw 5psi a touch earlier (like 35rpm) than using the brake stall on the graph I showed before.

    5psi by 2900rpm
    10psi by 3400rpm,
    15psi by 3800rpm,
    20psi by 4100rpm.

I use the data logging from my PowerMod piggyback ECU, and pump it into excel.

Ive got a Wolf3d, T70 turbo, FMIC, 3" TRUST exhaust, 2 x bosch fuel pumps, aftermarket ignition system (wasted spark through wolf, higher output coils) Hoping that will make close to 300kw atw. Will have to wait and see though, when my car comes back from exhaust shop.

With stock turbos, stock boost, wolf, fuel pump, ignition system fmic and exhaust it made 180rwkw on the Dyno, on 9-10psi. Hopefully with the new huffer, on 18psi it will make around the 300kw mark
