I can't answer your question mate but from the redline it looks to have had an 18R in it? Maybe that narrows it down a little?
I'll tell you what though, you are lucky to have dash consoles with unbutchered radio cut outs!!
I've been collecting parts for my TA22 restorations/rebuilds for a while now, including several instrument consoles in various different conditions. Amongst these I have an unusual one (think it came with a “parts” car that I bought a few years back) that I'm hoping someone can give me some background info on. It appears to be a TA22 console – same size and instrument layout, however unlike every other one that I have seen – the plastic is a grey/green colour instead of black. Also, the vinyl wood-grain finish is different – much lighter than the standard.
Has anyone come across one of this particular style/colour before?
Pics below (standard black in front for comparison). The different plastic colour is more obvious from the rear.

My early '72 TA22 had a lighter dashboard from what I can remember. I will see if I can dig out a pic from somewhere. Sold the car 5 years ago but took plenty of pictures so maybe one shows it.

From the research I've been able to do, I was wondering whether it may have been an ST or GT console, or as you say perhaps from an 71/72. However a couple of things don't add up - the speedo is kph - which suggests '74 or '75, and is has the LT standard oil/charge warning lights instead of the ST/GT gauge. Possible that someone has swapped the instruments from a stock (74/75) LT console I suppose, but seems like a strange thing to do.
Couple of pics from some early brochures that maybe give a clue - but to be honest - bit hard to tell from these (I have a near mint copy of the brochure that the second pic comes from - and still hard to be sure).

As you can see a pretty significant difference in dash colour. I reckon from your pics someone just swapped the speedo out of a kmh model for the mph one.

Yep - the one in your '72 looks to be a match. That's probably the explanation. Thanks.
