Default 1970s Corolla Exhaust Manifold Parts Question

An exhaust manifold header pipe and the heat shield cover has just about worn out on my 1978 Corolla wagon after 400,000 miles. Are there any after-market parts, or is this something that has to be fabricated. If it has to be fabricated, are we talking about a specialty muffler shop, machine shop or something else? It has a 2TC engine.Thanks.

You could make something out of this stuff: http://www.aclperformance.com.au/prod_heatshield.htm

Basically a fine ceramic fibre encased in aluminium, very flexible, can be drilled, etc. just needs any cut edges folded/crimped over to keep the fibre encased.

that's available at most retail auto-parts stores - there would be something similar in the US?

You should be able to grab 2T headers off the shelf. Ditch the heat shield and get the headers ceramic coated, much better
The above opinion is just that - my opinion. It is not shared by any business that I am currently or have previously been involved with, nor any of their employee's.
