ae92 corolla clutch? problem - help

I don't know what on earth happened to the last thread i posted about this but anyway, i'll try again.

I got this ae92 which is giving hassles. On occasions i cannot engage the next gear when driving but some of the time its fine. Double or triple clutching improves the shift though
but it doesn't appear to be one of the clutch cylinders.
Another symptom is a very distinct 'thud' or 'thunk' sound when i release the clutch after having it in gear. This happens all the time when i put the car in neutral.

Any ideas?

At one stage there was a 'clack clack clack...' sound coming from the bell housing/gearbox aswel, but all these problems tend to happen more often after a good thrashing.
Anyone had this before or something similar?

possibly popped a spring out of the clutch plate which is getting jammed not letting the pressure plate engage. Although when I've had that happen to me with a few different plates the thing tends to get stuck in gear and you can't get it out when the cars running.

You've checked the throw of the slave at full pedal actuation?

My AW11 had this exact same problem only a few week ago, would shift fine, then be difficult, then make that clack clack noise and be like its partially engaged even with foot all the way down. Turns out it was 2 broken rivets that hold the pressure plate ring thingy on and it wouldnt release properly.
