Its the cat over temp sensor for the dash, though i am not sure if there is any feedback to the ECU (ie. too maybe trigger limp mode when it reaches the over temp condition).
hi everyone
trying to sort out a studder/vibration in my soarer this arvo and in doing so i took off the exhaust pipe with the cat attached to it
just after the cat there is a sensor, very similar to what an oxygen sensor looks like except longer, its only 2 wire (black and white) the normal 02 sensor is still located up near the dumps
what is this sensor? also pulling it out of its housing it actually become damaged, seems i tiny part of it had fused to the housing pipe and ripped a small chunk off the sensor its self. any idea's on what it is so i can try and replace it? am i right in assuming its just another o2 sensor for after the cat?
car is completely stock Twin turbo non vvti 1992 soarer.
As they say in the book, assembly is the reverse of dismantling, but slower cos you forgot where all the bits are

big zop is right.. just stick it back in the cat mate she'll be right.. very rarely does it even sense overtemp in the exhaust thats why later model cars dont even have it..
just dont remove it and bridge the wires or the overtemp light will be on constantly on the dash.. so just put it back as you found it =P
