I believe that the bore size will actualy reduce when compressed due to the the design of the gasket.
Weather or not it is a whole 1mm im not sure.
I'm eyeing off a HKS head gasket for my 4AGZE, but for some reason they are all 1mm bigger (82mm) in bore diameter
Is there a reason for this?

It's fine.
If its bored oversize, there won't be apiece of metal hanging into the combustion chamber getting Very Hot & unable to conduct away enough heat, and if its stock, it'll only fill with some carbon.
