    Default MA61/RA65 Question

Hey guys, my RA65 my sister smashed into a wall is all back and working again , just needs a new paint job

but seeing as she scraped along a tree before shit hit wall the black strips on the side of the RA65 were torn off .. so one side has lost all its strips and the other side has i think 2 of the 4 strips.

Now what im thinking is .. take off all the strips and fill the holes to make the car look even better .
But what the hell do you use on an ra65/ra60/MA61/gz10 to fix the little holes the black strips hook into.

Would fibreglassing over the holes with a thin strip of fibreglass then bog then sand it down work ??

if not , what other methods are there to close the holes up? ?

    cheers guys !

how big are the holes ?
if there the normal odd size say 10mm i would just bog them althought yeh fiberglassing and boging is the non doge way to do it

if your looking for a temp fix try those plugs for the rear parcel shelf but bigger

    yeah dude
the holes are fairly small - I'd be perfectly comfortable fibreglass bogging those holes. You could weld in new plates if you really wanted, but imho for the effort it's not worth it.

I used epoxy putty, sorta like that "Quik Steel" stuff. I filled each of the holes, made sure they were all nice and solid, then sanded them gently *just* below the surface then used a bit of bog to blend them into the panel as the stuff is so hard its difficult to get a nice finish.

When you pull the strips off, on the door, at the latch end, you have to undo a bolt there, i massacred one of the holes buy reefing it off haha and when you go to fill the door holes, its hard to get behind the intrusion bars but metaltek stuff or if your skill full with fibreglass go nuts. i got one door done and all the body holes. panel beats next door did my door as they pulled a crease out of it.
